Questions about Amerigo

Short answers about Amerigo Padel Tournaments: what it needs, what it costs, and where your data lives.

Does Amerigo work offline?

Yes, fully. Setting up an event, drawing the rounds, the timer, scores, standings and the results card all work with no signal and no account. Courts with bad reception are exactly where it is meant to be used.

Is it a subscription?

No. Amerigo is a one-time purchase, at the price shown in your store. Prices differ by store and country. There is no subscription, no ads and nothing to buy inside the app.

How many players and courts can it handle?

Amerigo sets no upper limit. It uses one court for every four players, and the minimum depends on the format:

  • Americano: 4 players or more, any number.
  • Mexicano: 4 players or more, in multiples of four.
  • Escalera and Beat the Box: 8 players or more, in multiples of four.
  • King of Court: 4 players on a single court, or 8 or more in multiples of four.
  • Fixed pairs (Americano and King of Court): 4 pairs or more. King of Court needs an even number of pairs.

In Americano and Mexicano you can also choose fewer courts, unless the bench is rotating. The round is then played in waves, and the schedule evens out the rest between games.

What happens with odd numbers?

In Americano, any number from 5 works. When the count is not a multiple of four, Amerigo fills every court it can and puts the other one, two or three players on a bench that rotates each round. Over the full schedule everyone sits out the same number of times. When the count is one more than a multiple of four (5, 9, 13, 17, 21 and so on), everyone also partners everyone else exactly once.

Mexicano, Escalera, King of Court and Beat the Box move players between courts in groups of four, so they need a multiple of four. With fixed pairs in Americano, an odd number of pairs is fine: with a court for every two pairs, one pair rests each round and every pair rests once. With fewer courts, more pairs rest in each wave.

Is it on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Get it from the App Store on an iPhone and from Google Play on an Android phone. Both versions do the same things. Each store sells its own copy, so a purchase on one does not carry over to the other.

Where is my data?

On your phone. Player names, settings, scores, standings and results are stored only on the device where you enter them. There is no account and no copy on our servers, so we cannot see, restore or recover your events. Deleting the app deletes them, so share the results card first if you want a record.

Amerigo does send anonymous crash reports and usage statistics, such as which format you chose and how many players and courts, but never names or scores. With usage statistics on, it also records the app’s screens with all text and images hidden. You can turn both off in Settings, and the app works exactly the same. The privacy policy has the details.

How is it different from PadelWith.me?

Same team, different jobs. Amerigo is a paid offline app for running one event from the side of the court: no accounts, no ratings, no internet. PadelWith.me is our online platform in Mauritius, with player profiles and ratings, open games, tournaments and court bookings at clubs.
